Merchandising Consultancy Services
Fifth Dimension Consultancy Services provide you with a complete portfolio of Range and Merchandising services, to act as your personal Range and Space Department.
Trusted, experienced resource is always hard to find, especially when you need that resource to be flexible, scalable and responsive. More and more clients in the merchandising and category management fields are finding that they do not have the required resource available to meet all the needs of their clients, whether this is a short term pressure, or something more permanent.
Clients will often commission us to work on aspects of this process, or fill gaps that they cannot provide themselves, due to time constraints, or lack of resource or skills within their organization.
Tied together with our Communication services, Fifth Dimension offers the complete one stop solution to creating a complete Category Review and delivering the results in a professional and exciting presentation.
We provide services at every step along the Category Review process:
Database creation and management; merchandising and analytics; creation of the category review; and ongoing Space Planning training.
Database Management
Fifth Dimension provides the ability to match and manage category data streams from multiple sources for use in planograms and ranging.
Clients often receive data from information houses, which do not link up to each other. Often codes do not match, or descriptions are difficult to decipher, leading to time spent manually matching these or an inability to use this data at all!
We audit actual stores to source original product databases and clean up existing data to verify their integrity to ensure we have a clear picture of what is going on in store. This provides accuracy for merchandising and planning, while helping to categorize the data and ensure product placement is logical.
In addition, Fifth Dimension can also audit the space occupied by the products, recording space dimensions and fixture data. Often manufacturers lack clarity on the exact fixture data in store but Fifth Dimension will supply this data to ensure that your spatial calculations are accurate to a fine detail.
Merchandising and Analytics
In partnership with you, Fifth Dimension can devise a new range and planogramming vision for you and your category. We take apart existing planograms to understand how they are performing, at all fixture lengths and clusters, and overlay market data from any source to provide context. This leads to a gap analysis, identifying market trends and key category drivers which influence the performance of the plan.
This can lead to a re-segmentation of the market data according to new purchase hierarchies. As a result, we can recommend an optimized range and space allocation, allowing us to restructure the planogram to match how a customer interacts with the fixture. This allows the shopper’s mission to be more fruitful through better use of space and driving an increase in profit for both manufacturer and retailer.
Category Reviews
While we can perform any of these tasks individually, Fifth Dimension can undertake the ultimate exercise of such analysis: the Category Review.
Fifth Dimension can take on entire reviews, leaving you to focus on further strategic growth within your company. These reviews encompass the skills of our merchandisers, business analysts and designers to give you a complete overview of category performance, identifing opportunities for growth and creating planograms featuring increased space efficiency.
These findings can be pulled together in an eye-catching and professionally designed presentation to launch your new category vision onto the retail world, ensuring that your message has maximum impact in that crucial final presentation.
Training
In addition to these in house services, Fifth Dimension can increase the effectiveness of your category teams through bespoke training courses. We offer basic and advanced training on all our software applications, including Virtual Shelf.
In addition, we offer courses in Space Planning. These cover the wider applications of the space planning process, and will show you how to understand merchandising principles, select ideal product placement, understand the mechanics of awarding space on shelf and using fixtures well, implement best practice segmentation principles and create efficient, high performance planograms.
This is ideal for new starters in the Merchandising world, and those who would benefit from sharpening their performance.
